What are the 4 types of diet?
Diets vary and vary according to the technique you rely on. Below, we present the most popular diets of our time.
Ketogenic Diet
The ketogenic diet, unlike many diets, relies on increasing the percentage of fat in meals and reducing the proportion of carbohydrates. The diet was initially used to treat epilepsy, but now many people follow it to lose weight and lead a healthy life.
Although it seems strange that eating fat helps burn it, it is a proven fact! The body burns excess fat when eating foods rich in healthy fats, such as those found in nuts, avocados, olive oil, and coconut; these are all examples of foods that can be eaten on the Keto diet
In addition to the role of the Ketogenic diet in weight loss in the short-term, studies have shown that in the long term of following it, there is a decrease in blood sugar and LDL cholesterol, while HDL cholesterol is elevated; no side effects have been reported in people who follow it correctly, so this diet is safe when followed for long periods.
Zone Diet
The Zone Diet is a balanced diet, which aims to lose weight by consuming calculated amounts of food in fixed proportions. It is the most followed system in the world because it does not have a prohibition on food, but 40% of carbohydrates, 30% of fats, and 30% of proteins must be consumed, provided that the total calories for all meals are not less than 1200 calories, and not more than 1500 calories per day.
In this diet, the total calories consumed per day are less than the calories burned by their body – the normal range for adults to burn is about 2400 calories per day; it can be more or less depending on many factors such as age, gender, and health status – in which case the body tends to consume its fat stores.
Vegetarian Diet
The Vegetarian diet is defined as abstaining from eating meat, but this definition is not accurate, as there are some vegetarians who eat dairy and its derivatives, some do not eat it, and there are those who eat eggs and gelatin, and others who do not eat it, due to the presence of several types of vegetarian diets, the most famous of which are:
Pure vegetarian diet: The person is completely dependent on vegetables, fruits, and everything that is grown, and completely avoids all animal products and their derivatives such as processed meat, eggs, milk, honey, and others, as well as not eating fish and marine organisms.
Vegetarian Lacto diet: Those who follow this diet - in addition to vegetables and fruits - eat milk with all its derivatives, but eggs and fish are not allowed.
Lacto Ofo Diet: It increases the vegetarian Lacto diet because it allows eating eggs.
Pisco diet: in which fish is allowed.
Studies have shown that BMI rises as animal choices in food are made, higher for meat eaters, medium for fish eaters, and low for vegetarians. A large number of people in different countries follow this diet for several reasons, the most important of which is the prevention of some obesity-related diseases such as type II diabetes.
Diet Atkins
Robert Atkins created the Atkins Diet in 1972, which is named the Atkins diet, and it is a type of ketogenic diet that depend on fat as a source of energy in the body instead of carbohydrates.
This diet reduces the consumption of carbohydrates in the first phase of the diet to the lowest level, as it does not exceed 10% of the total food intake. In this case, the blood sugar level drops to the lowest normal level for the body, and insulin secretion decreases, so the body burns fat as an alternative source of energy from carbohydrates.
In the next phase of the diet, the body regularly loses accumulated fat; some complex carbohydrates such as those found in legumes can be introduced. The final stage is weight stabilization; other types of carbohydrates can be consumed but in calculated amounts appropriate to the weight.
Abstract:
You should not choose the diet yourself without resorting to a specialist; each system has controls and rules, side effects, and risks as well. In order to avoid these risks, your doctor must determine the appropriate diet for you, the different amounts of food suitable for your weight, and the amount of fat in your body, in addition to committing to regular exercise, as this will give you better results, both for weight loss and for a healthier life.
